EFT TAPPING

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), commonly known as tapping, is a holistic healing technique that combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with modern psychology. It involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on an emotional or physical issue.

Here's a brief explanation of how EFT tapping works:

Identifying the Issue: The first step in EFT tapping is to identify the emotional or physical issue you want to address. This could be anything from stress and anxiety to physical pain or traumatic memories.

Setup Statement: Once you've identified the issue, you create a setup statement that acknowledges the problem while also affirming self-acceptance and self-love. For example, "Even though I feel anxious about this upcoming presentation, I deeply and completely accept myself."

Tapping Sequence: EFT tapping involves gently tapping with your fingertips on specific acupressure points on the body while repeating a reminder phrase related to the issue. The basic tapping points are:

·      Karate chop point (side of the hand)

·      Top of the head

·      Beginning of the eyebrow

·      Side of the eye

·      Under the eye

·      Under the nose

·      Chin

·      Collarbone

·      Under the arm

·      Inside of the wrist

Repeat and Tune In: As you tap on each point, you repeat the reminder phrase (e.g., "this anxiety," "this pain") to keep your focus on the issue at hand. While tapping, you also tune into the physical sensations, emotions, or thoughts that arise.

Reevaluation: After completing a round of tapping, you reevaluate your level of distress related to the issue on a scale of 0 to 10 (with 10 being the highest level of distress). Ideally, you should feel a decrease in intensity.

Repeat as Needed: You can repeat the tapping sequence multiple times, focusing on different aspects of the issue or incorporating new insights that arise during the process.

Positive Affirmation: Finally, you end the tapping session with a positive affirmation or statement that reinforces self-acceptance, self-love, and empowerment.

EFT tapping is believed to work by restoring balance to the body's energy system, as described in TCM. By tapping on specific acupressure points, you stimulate the body's energy meridians and release blockages or disruptions in the flow of energy. This, in turn, can lead to emotional release, relaxation, and relief from physical discomfort.

It's important to note that while EFT tapping can be effective for many people, it may not work for everyone, and it's not intended to replace professional medical or psychological treatment. If you have serious emotional or physical issues, it's always best to consult with a qualified healthcare professional.
