Let’s talk about something I like to call the Mindful Gap.
The Mindful Gap is the space between an event occurring and your reaction.
As we go throughout our day, we’re interacting constantly. Events are happening and oftentimes our reaction is based on habitual reaction or a trauma reaction.
When we are fully present, we can react from a place that’s in alignment, so when we practice Meditation, and we practice Mindfulness we are more present and more aware.
What happens when we are fully present?
When the event occurs, the reaction time gets wider and there is a space in between where you can be present and see how it is that you genuinely want to react in alignment with your core belief system.
Be it to your partner saying something, be it to somebody cutting you off when you’re driving down the highway, you can widen that gap and you can show up truly as your
