What Is The Healing Tree ~ Unveil What A.I.L.S You?

"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious." - Carl Jung

Welcome to The Healing Tree! We're glad you're here.

This tool can be used multiple times to heal any form of Trauma. This tool is designed to get you out from the ground and grow a strong root system reaching high into the air.

Fractals are at the core of this Course. Fractals are intricate geometric shapes that exhibit self-similarity across different scales, where each part reflects the whole, and are created through simple, repetitive processes that model complex natural patterns. One of the best examples is a tree!

As theJung quote aboveeloquently states, we must move into the darkness to see what's there in order to see the light. We do this in the first 4 Steps in this Course:

T ∞ Trauma

E ∞ Emotions

R ∞ Reactions

V ∞ Victimhood

These four steps are how we make the "darkness conscious." Let me explain a little further:

T ∞ Trauma

Emotional trauma occurs when intense, distressing experiences overwhelm an individual's ability to cope, leading to long-lasting negative effects on their emotional well-being and psychological functioning. Our mission with these Journal Prompts is to "root out" (no pun intended) this trauma. Look deep and see how it shows up in our day-to-day life.

E ∞ Emotions

It's time to become objective and ovserve our day-to-day life. Where are we experiencing emotions? Who are we with? What are they? Emotions from trauma resurface when we are triggered because the traumatic experiences create deep-seated patterns in our brain and body that respond automatically to stimuli resembling the original event, causing intense emotional reactions that may seem disproportionate to the current situation. This occurs as the brain’s threat detection system recalls and activates the emotional response linked to the trauma, even if the trigger is a minor reminder rather than the original source of distress.

R ∞ Reactions

How are you reacting from these emotions? Emotions from past trauma often surface in day-to-day life as automatic, intense reactions to triggers that remind us of the original distressing experiences, influencing our behavior and interactions without us fully realizing their underlying source. This is where we start to see patterns and uncover them. Make them conscious.

V ∞ Victimhood

This is where we have to break the cycle! Push up through the dirt into the light and not let ourseles fall back to the trauma. Stop adopting a victim mentality and blaming others for our emotions and reactions. When people experience trauma and are triggered, their intense emotional reactions can lead them to adopt a victim mentality as a coping mechanism, where they perceive themselves as powerless and overwhelmed by their circumstances. This victimhood can manifest through feelings of helplessness, blaming external factors for their distress, or perceiving themselves as constantly at the mercy of their past trauma, which can hinder their ability to take proactive steps toward healing and recovery.

Now it's time to see the light!

Now that we've uncovered what A.I.L.S us, it's time to break out this acronym. Let me show you how you're going to grow your tree tall!

A ∞ Awareness

Becoming aware when breaking from victimhood empowers individuals to recognize and challenge their automatic, self-limiting responses, allowing them to take control of their own healing and growth. Awareness helps them shift from a passive mindset to an active one, where they can make conscious choices, develop resilience, and reclaim their agency, ultimately fostering personal empowerment and a more fulfilling, self-directed life.

I ∞ Inward

Using this awareness, we can then look inward to how it's showing up in the body. We will be observing how emotions manifest in our bodies and minds, recognizing patterns, and understanding the triggers that evoke these emotional responses. By being mindful of these reactions, we can identify the underlying causes, such as unresolved trauma or limiting beliefs, and assess how they influence our behavior and decision-making. This self-awareness allows us to process emotions more effectively, make informed changes, and develop healthier responses to our internal experiences.

L ∞ Loving

If we can love, we don't shame. They can't exist at the same time. One of the most powerful things you can do is love a habit or a part of yourself you feel shame for. If you love it, you can heal it. If you can heal it, you're unstoppable. Loving and accepting ourselves, including the aspects we feel shameful about, fosters self-compassion and emotional healing, which can significantly improve our overall well-being. This acceptance reduces internal conflict and shame, allowing us to integrate and embrace all parts of ourselves, leading to greater self-esteem, resilience, and a more authentic and fulfilling life.

S ∞ Seeing

Now we are a tall and magnificent tree! As high as we are deeply rooted in the ground. From here we see all things, the good and the bad. Love them, are aware of them, and feel like a true fractal. As above, so below. The power of seeing both our positive and negative aspects lies in achieving a balanced self-awareness, which allows us to understand ourselves more fully and grow from our experiences. Recognizing our strengths helps us build confidence, while acknowledging our weaknesses or mistakes provides opportunities for improvement and personal development. This comprehensive self-view fosters authenticity, self-acceptance, and more meaningful connections with others. From here we send out Seeds of Awareness to all around us! They may even turn into tall trees themselves. ;)

This course is meant to be done in sequence, and like I've stated, as many times as you wish. Traumas come in many forms, and we are all experiencing them on a daily basis. From your parent forgetting to pick you up at school to experiencing emotional abuse, they all show up in our bodies because at the time we had to survive.

This course is about falling in love with yourself. When you love yourself, you naturally extend that love to the world, your neighbors, your life, and everything around you. You see your flaws, you see your strengths, and you admit they exist. From there you can grow. As tall as you want.

Rise above dear friend: the world wants to see you as tall as you can be!
